What is a kikichoko?
Kikichoko translates to “sake tasting cup”. Traditionally, they were white porcelain and used at sake breweries as the tasting cups. The ring design inside is known as the snake eye and are there to help assess clarity of the sake. The white part of the cup allows you to also see the color tint of the sake. The standard size of the cup is also 6 oz. Colors may vary.
